Middle East hotel boom sees 50.4% year-on-year increase in hotel construction.

According to a new report published by research firm STR Global, the Middle East region has 251 hotels, which features over 80K rooms under construction as of January 2016.

These include the three new hotels from Damac Properties, 10 from Riu Hotels alongside its master developer Nakheel and 8 from the Rotana hotel group.

Together with 61 properties under construction in Dubai, the city can also expect to see the Viceroy Dubai, Palm Jumeirah and the Jumeirah Al Naseem, Madinat Jumeirah to complete and open its doors by the end of the year.
